Dominant Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Honors.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player concluded the year with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a historic £11m in earnings.

She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".
